I will
admit, I owe my current bronzer and highlighter selections to Estée Lalonde of
essiebutton.com/essiebutton (YouTube channel/Twitter handle). She is very fair-skinned
like I am and after seeing her rave about these two products I decided I needed
to get my hands on them, especially for the winter when I’m even paler than
usual. Both of these products come in different (darker) shades. These are both quality products, the powder is finely milled so it never looks like you have a bunch of powder on your face.
Bronzer:
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in 01 Light Matte
You can get this in stores at The
Body Shop or at their online store. My friend Ashley got this for me for my
birthday (Thanks, Ash! J). The packaging and product are
really nice—the product is actually pressed to look like a honeycomb. This is
the perfect shade of bronzer for me. Bronzers tend to either look orange or
muddy on me since I am so fair, but this is perfect. It gives a hint of warmth
without actually making it look like I have bronzer on. I put this on with an
angled blush brush around the perimeter of my face to bronze and in the
shallows of my cheeks (make a fishy face and put bronzer in the concaved part) to
contour.
Highlighter:
the Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter, Shadow & Shimmer
the Blam has cute and cheeky
packaging. They put a lot of effort into all their packaging (e.g., Mary-Lou Manizer instead of luminzer, the
matte eyeshadows in the Meet Matt(e) palette are all named Matt with different
last names) and I love the products I have from them. This highlighter gives a
nice luminosity to the skin; it has never looked like I have glitter on my face
or anything like that. I put this on the top of my cheekbones to make them pop
and sometimes on my brow bone and in the inner corner of my eyes. It is champagne-colored, but on my skin it
doesn’t really have a color, just a nice glow. I got this at the Amazon Beauty
Shop. the Balm is hard to find in stores, I’ve only seen a couple products at
Kohl’s…so Amazon it is!
